Avoid Supplementation… newest recommendation from your health professionals

Most supplements do not prevent chronic disease or death, their use is not justified, and they should be avoided.”   http://www.cbsnews.com/news/multivitamin-researchers-say-case-is-closed-supplements-dont-boost-health/

Yes, according to this auspicious report, supplementation is useless in disease prevention.  Supplements and vitamins were never intended to prevent disease.  What is disease?

Disease or “dis-ease” is the state of the body when essential functions of the body are inhibited.  Most of the time, (unless injury) the body is lacking vital nutrients.  Nutrients (minerals and vitamins, essential fatty acids, essential amino acids) are necessary for the body to perform all of its functions.  When a symptom, any symptom manifests itself, we know (according to my dear friend Dr. R. Cass) that this is a ‘healing strategy.’  This is the body signaling that it is missing something, or that there is something in residence in the body that does not belong.

Good food, (grown without pesticides, herbicides and chemical fertilizers), in soil that has not been depleted through over use, will almost always provide enough nutrients for the body to function.  However, most of the food grown today is not organic, non-GMO, and grown in fields that are ‘tired’ from over use.  This means that the food has less good raw material to work with while growing, so the end result of the fruit, vegetable, or grain is not full of assimilate-able nutrients.  After a while, decades now, we know that in order to have health, we must supplement.  Supplements do not prevent disease.  Supplements augment nutrients that are missing from the Standard American Diet (in the US) and keep the body strong enough not to succumb to disease.

Until next time,
