Streptococcus What is it, and how do we protect ourselves?

Streptococcus is a very common bacteria which is spread by hand to hand, person to person contact. Because it is a very prevalent microbe, it is impossible to avoid if one lives or works with other human beings.

The key to keeping illnesses caused by Streptococcus at bay is to keep your immune system healthy. God has created the body to ward off unfriendly invaders. Some of the defense mechanisms of the body are mucus conditions and fever. The mucus conditions (runny nose, and yellow/green snot; phlegm in the throat) are signs that the body is containing those bacteria, and is coating, diluting, and forcing them out of the body. The fever is a sign that the body is cooking the life out of the bacteria.

Important to note, that when conventional medicine tries to stop the fever and dry up the mucus, the patient is actually allowing the bacteria to flourish in the body! Conventional antibiotics do work to kill the Streptococcus, but unfortunately, they also kill the good bacteria (probiotics) that keep the immune system functioning. When the balance of good bacteria is upset, the body cannot function as it should, and disease organisms flourish. This is why you might have noticed that once you complete a series of antibiotics, gain some relief from disease, it does not take long for relapse to occur. The antihistamines will dry up a runny nose, but it will also dry up the bacteria, and embed it in the mucus tissue. Therefore, hindering the body from running a fever delays the body’s attempts to rid itself of the offending invader.

A better course of action would be to use naturally occurring elements and flora can help the body do what it is designed to do–to heal itself. At the first sign of a runny nose, or congestion, a good substance to take is Colloidal Silver. This is a naturally occurring element that is 99% pure. Silver is a natural antibiotic. The body knows where the bacteria is hiding, and will guide the Silver to it. Not only will the Silver kill the bacteria, but it is also effective in drying up mucus conditions in a way that will not embed the bacteria into the tissues.

Olive Leaf is a biblical plant, and is a strong natural antibiotic. This can also be used to stem the reproduction of the Streptococcus bacteria. I keep this extract in my arsenal of natural remedies.

Japanese Honeysuckle and Forsythia blend is also a good herbal remedy against the Streptococcus bacteria. Additionally it is helpful against Staphylococcus and salmonella. It is extremely effective in bacterial food poisoning.
