Liver Cleanse: Why and How?

Why do a liver cleanse? There has been much talk recently concerning my friends and the Fat Flush Plan. What is it, and why is it necessary. Your liver is the primary filter of your body. It is affected by your environment, your foods, your drugs, (both Rx and OTC) and your emotions. The liver is where emotions of anger, bitterness, and resentment reside.

Depending on age and lifestyle, a liver detox/cleanse could be in order. If one is young (20-40) but has lived on the edge (lots of alcohol, recreational drugs, fast foods) then the liver needs cleansing. If you are slightly older (40-50) and eat the average Western diet, then a liver cleanse is called for. The average Western diet consists of much fast foods, convenience, pre-packed foods. These foods have a high white flour content. White flour products turn to sugar in the body, and then turn to alcohol in the liver. This is why we are seeing an increase of cirrhosis of the liver in people who do not consume alcohol.

If you are 50+ you just need a liver cleanse because you have been fortunate enough to have had multiple birthdays. Look at it this way: You change the a/c filters in your home, your air and fuel filters in your vehicles regularly. Why not treat your primary filter, the Liver, the same way. A liver transplant is always an option, but wouldn’t you want to just cleanse the filter rather than replace it?

The Fat Flush Plan (FFP) is a two week plan. We give you meal suggestions, a checklist to make things easy, and a list of supplements to use. Yes, it is a very disciplined regimen for two weeks, but hey… your health is worth it! Please visit my website www.pollyheilmealey.com and find the Fat Flush Plan on the right hand side. You will find everything you need to cleanse your liver. There is another link Free Health Analysis, that will take you to a site where you will be able to find all the products listed in the FFP.

I know that when I do the FFP, I feel more energy, more vibrancy, and lose unwanted pounds and inches. If you have tried the FFP, please respond to this blog and let us know what the FFP did for you.

Coaching you to a healthier, fitter you,

I’m glad you asked! I recently completed the 2-week liver cleanse (aka Fat Flush Plan). The food plan was easy to follow and I was always satisfied when I finished eating. Several things I noticed: 1) my cravings for ‘bad’ foods diminished significantly; 2) desire for coffee (caffeine) has diminished; 3) NO chronic reflux (none!); 4) more energy; AND 5) I lost about 7 lbs.! I have felt so good, I decided to continue the eating plan even though I am no longer on the liver cleanse and I still continue to lose weight! It’s a win-win!!

After ending the 2 week liver cleanse a week ago, I have found it easy to change bad eating habits and not be hungry, and STILL LOSING weight, a total of 9 pounds. As a middle-aged male it has not been hard to change (you have to want to, NO ONE will make you). I have not changed my life style in any way, just how and what I eat, or should that be what I DON’T eat?

    • Thanks! Yes, discipline takes work, but the end results are worth it. I like to think of the ‘what I DON’T eat’ as part of our being a ‘living sacrifice.’ Thinking about all that He has done for us, keeping our Temple in top shape is one of the least things we can do. Thank you for encouraging others…..

This is coming from a 50+ female.
I have been on cleanses, but never a liver cleanse.
I just finished a 3 week liver cleanse.
I am somewhat muscluar and only lost 3 lbs., but yesterday I put on a pair of pants and I can tell that I have lost inches…for a woman, that is a YEAH!!!
I try to eat healthy, but white flour, white sugar and ‘comfort food’ sneak in to my life.
After 21 days (makes a habit) I am still eating healthy and trying to make a variety to good food so I can stay on this ‘way of life’.
I KNOW this is good for my insides and I am slowly seeing a difference in my clothing and how they fit.
The liver cleanse will take out of your diet the foods that do not feed nor give energy to your body and put in to your diet the foods that will benefit the body and help you live a long, healthy life!

    • Hi Teri, I am soooo proud of you. You are right, Inches are just as good, (almost better) for a woman. Your insides will love you….. for a long, long time. This is why we do a liver cleanse annually…. it gets the sludge out 🙂

      Thank you for the encouragement!
