We at Abundant Health and Wellness were open this past Saturday, June 18, 2011. While I was seeing clients, a salesman walked in, (even though we have a NO SOLICITING sign affixed to the door.
My wonderful husband (and Saturday office manager) talked with this gentleman, and when my appointment was completed, told me that we had had a visitor, and he wanted me to look at his website.
The website talked about L-Arginine, and claimed that it produced nitric oxide in the body. I had heard about nitric oxide as relates to vehicle performance. You know, you have heard about it. Racers use it to boost their engine’s performance. I had never heard about it having an organic form, and I had little idea of what it could do for the body.
L-Arginine is an amino acid. We stock this in our clinic. I have to admit, that I have not really paid much attention to this little supplement. I was surprised at all the things it could do:
- Lower blood pressure
- Anti-inflammatory
- Boosts the immune system
- Heightens athletic performance
- Fights off colds and flu… the list goes on and on.
Because high blood pressure is a common ailment with my clients, I decided to ‘test drive’ this amino acid, and see if it was effective. After only three doses, blood pressure was well within normal range.
I encourage you to research L-Arginine, and talk with your health care professional about its use. It is a relatively inexpensive supplement, and its benefits are many
Until next time,
Polly
