Mothering with a passion…. never forget.

Mothers are powerful!   I was talking to my thirty-something son last night.  We were reminiscing about some things that had happened in the past.  Some things wonderful and some not so.  We were refreshing our memories.  He said, remember when you said….  I did.  It could have been an awkward moment, as the memory was not a particularly pleasant one.  However, he said, “You know, Mom, that comment really got me to thinking, and I remember exactly what you said.   It has stayed with me through the years.”

Sometimes, we think that our children have outgrown our parenting.  By this I mean that they are not listening, even when, or especially when, they are adults.  However, this conversation tells me that they never stop listening.

As moms, we are strategically positioned to bring words of life, healing and blessing to our children.  May we never forget.

Until next time,

Polly

  1. Heya i am for the first time here. I came across this board and I find It really useful & it helped me out a lot. I hope to give something back and aid others like you aided me.

  2. Ah yes, my mother only gets away with the contridictions I’m kind enough to allow! 🙂 It is not only words either. She said something about me eating while driving one day, and I reminded her of a day when she didn’t wear seatbelts, drove with her knees as she ate and littered out the window, all the while speeding. She wouldn’t dare do any of those things today, but I remember!

I must also say that your thirty-something son stands out as someone who reminds me of things I’ve said, and does so more than anyone else I know! 🙂

  3. Not what I was thinking but great anyway! Nice one!
